Producing music in a log cabin studio surrounded by nothing but wide open fields and endless skies, solitude has driven and inspired George Williams’ AKA Georna’s (jaw-na) pursuit to create rhythmic and funk-inspired electronic soundscapes. Residing in rural Norfolk in the UK, the accomplished drummer is chasing his dreams of working in the music industry, not swayed by the jobs more commonly associated with his business management degree. Inspired by the powerful storytelling in “Channel Orange” and a conversation with Frank Ocean in 2012, Georna’s musical arrangements and collaborations strive to captivate, resonate and inspire.
Georna has gained a solid grounding in the industry over the last five years, performing in numerous bands as well as producing records for various artists. The 21-year-old graduated from Warwick Business School with a First Class Honours degree in the summer of 2018. Since then, he has been cultivating his sound through exploring new opportunities, including setting up his own production firm. In the coming months, Georna will collaborate with several artists who share his passion for crafting powerful narratives, intrinsically believing in the value of connecting deeply with an audience.
